THE VERDICT

When all the evidence has been presented and both sides have had the opportunity to, at length, plead their case, the judge will hand it over to the jury. The jurors will attempt to reach an agreement through a thorough investigation of the facts and cases made by both the plaintiff's attorney and the defense.

If the judge believes that the verdict the jury has reached is appropriate, the judge will take the necessary steps to enforce the judgment. If the verdict is in the plaintiff's favor the judge will force the defendant to pay the money awarded by the jury using any legal means possible. Should the defendant have the backing of an insurance company they will normally pay the judgment without any intervention from the court.
